Get your mind right. It will either lead you to a dead end, or it will lead you to the promise land. What are we if not a sum of our thoughts? That’s why it’s imperative that you take control of how you feel and focus your mind in the direction you want to go. Too many times people float through life, never toward their dreams, but towards whatever in life shines the most from one moment to the next. Stay focused. Point your mind in the right direction and live your life with intention.

You’re human. You have dreams and desires. You’ve set goals for yourself, but sooner or later life happens. Then, before you know it you’ve settled for the life you have because hey, it’s good enough. No. No, it’s not. It’s not the life you wanted, its the life you’ve settled for. That’s why you have to get your mind right. It’s not in the hustle and grind, although that helps. It’s not even in the goal planning, although that too helps. It’s in how you think. It’s in your focus. It’s in your drive and the way you continuously remind yourself of what you want and what you need to do to get it.

Daily Mindset

Remind yourself each morning when you wake up and each evening before you go to sleep what you want out of life and the mindset required to obtain it. The latter part of the previous sentence is important. It’s imperative that you understand who you need to be so that you know who you need to become. It’s in the act of becoming where success is born.

Throughout the day stay focused on what you want out of each moment of the day. Know, before going into ANY situation, how you’re going to feel and what your intent for that moment is going to be. I have an alarm on my phone that goes off three times a day with the words, love, value, and courage. They are a constant reminder of the mindset I want for my life and how I want to approach each moment its comprised of.

If you aren’t where you want to be in life there are a few reasons why:

  • You feel that you don’t deserve it.
  • You think that you’re not good enough.
  • You believe the naysayers.
  • You’ve decided on good enough.
  • You have a hard time staying focused.

What do all of those have in common? Faulty thinking! Don’t let the wrong mindset get in your way. There are enough external things that will do that for you. Internally, you’re in charge. By working to externalize the right internal mindset, you become more. When you become more, you are then able to do more for yourself and others. Be more do more. Become the best version of yourself. It’s time to upgrade your thinking.
